"Pete's Dragon" was initially conceived in 1957 as a two-part episode for the Disneyland television series, but was shelved; later to be revived in 1975 as a musical live-action and animated film. "Pete's Dragon" was released on November 3, 1977 grossing $18 million over a $10 million budget. The song "Candle on the Water," written by Al Kasha and Joel Hirshhorn, was originally sung by Nora who was played by Helen Reddy. The song received an Academy Award nomination, was released as a single by Capitol Records, and reached #27 on the Adult Contemporary charts.

Elliott was created and designed by Ken Anderson and animated by Don Bluth, Glen Keane, Randy Cartwright, and John Pomeroy. This is an absolutely perfect image of Elliot; he is over eight inches long, eyes open, and has a great smile. A stand out piece of Disney animation artwork, and a great addition for any collection!
